We’re all about focusing on ways to improve our lives through resolutions this year, instead of making our lives more miserable by cutting something out. Skin care and skin health is at an all time high, so why not ride the wave and take on one (or more!) of our 7 simple resolutions you can actually keep.
Wearing SPF daily is our #1 goal for all of our clients this year. No matter what you’re doing, where you’re going or what the temperature is, it’s imperative that you at least use a makeup product with SPF built in to help shield your skin from damage. We’ll never stop promoting this crucial step in your daily routine as it helps prevent skin cancer, dark spots, burns and signs of aging, which are all things we want to avoid.
It’s a little surprising how often we hear about clients who still don’t wash their face every night. Whether you wore makeup or not or even left the house or not, your face collects dirt, debris and bacteria that can lead to breakouts and irritations. Find a cleanser meant for your skin type and get yourself in the habit of washing off the day.
The world of skincare is truly amazing but can easily become overwhelming and frustrating if you’re experiencing a negative reaction from a product. Yes, chemical exfoliation can be great but if your moisture barrier is damaged you’re only doing more harm. In 2019, try to really get to know your skin and realize that some nights it’s okay to put down the Pumpkin Enzyme Scrub, if a gentle moisturizer is all you need.
Switch up your usual look with something new. A nude lip never goes out of style but who’s to say you wouldn’t look equally as amazing in a bright berry? If you’re stuck in a rut of using the same beauty products day in and day out, make it your mission to test one new product per month. You might just find your new holy grail.
Maybe it’s scheduling a monthly facial or splurging on that at-home mask you’ve been wanting or even just taking a relaxing bath. Whatever your idea of self care is, go with it and take some time to pamper yourself.
Everybody ages but that doesn’t mean you can’t age gracefully. If you’re in your mid-twenties (looking at you, 90s babies) or older, it’s time to get serious about aging prevention. As a first step, try introducing a Retinol-based product into your weekly routine, like Renew Serum (if you're still fighting breakouts) or Retinol Smoothing Serum.
It’s never too late to learn something new. If you’ve always wanted to master a cat eye or contour like Kim K, 2019 is your year. Find some good blogs (like ours!) and start practicing. The great thing about makeup is that you can always wipe it off and start again.
