With summer in full swing, the topic of packing for vacations has become more and more common around the office. There are so many amazing products in our repertoire, making it hard to know which to bring with us and which to leave home. For the extreme beauty junkies, deciding which products to pack feels a little like picking our favorite child.
When we’re in the comfort of our own homes, it’s easy to have an extensive routine with more products than we’d like to admit. But when we’re away, the thought of lugging around 15 full sized bottles in your suitcase sounds less than ideal. And let’s not forget about our makeup products. Packing your bags makes what you thought was a simple morning routine feel more like you’re getting ready for the Oscars. Who knew you used so many products for your ‘no makeup makeup’ look.
The more you think about it, the less likely it seems you’ll be able to fit your entire routine into one bag, let alone be content to carry it around with you.
So, is it possible to travel light without disrupting your beauty routine? We think so, just follow our tips!
If you’re using a mask once a week, it’s okay to leave it sitting on your vanity but for your everyday products, we suggest making room in your bag to make sure your skin doesn’t miss a beat while you’re away.
Whether you’re checking luggage, carrying on, or traveling by car, anyone can benefit from travel-sized products. If you can, look for your favorite products in smaller bottles, like our Skin Sets. In the off-chance something happens to your luggage, we promise you’ll be glad you didn’t lose your full-sized products.
Instead of 10 products that have one purpose, pack 3 that have multiple. Some of our favorites include Contour Kit, which replaces your need for bronzer, eye shadows and highlighter and Daily Polishing Cleanser, which gently cleanses and exfoliates for a brighter complexion (the powder formula makes it perfect for travel).
Trust us, now isn’t the time to be experimenting with new products or looks. This goes for skincare as well. Don't test a new product on your trip (or right before), as you never know how your skin will react.
Traveling by plane? Combat the dryness by incorporating a Hyaluronic Acid based product into your routine. Hitting the beach for a relaxing weekend? Keep a mist in your purse for when you need to cool off. And always keep a water bottle with you to make sure you’re hydrated from the inside out.
Simply adding a pop of color to the lips can take your beauty look from day to night without requiring anything extra. But only pack it if you’ll really wear it-- this isn't an excuse to pack a different shade for each outfit (see Tip #1).
Use a daily SPF, like our travel friendly Protecting Powder SPF 20 and wear a hat to safely enjoy your fun in the sun.
